American conductor and arts administrator Isaac Kramer has built a career that moves fluidly across the concert hall, the Broadway touring circuit, and the classroom. His cross-genre musical acumen encompasses symphonic, operatic, musical theater, and pops repertoire, and his work on both sides of the podium as a performer and as an executive gives him a rare, integrated perspective on the music industry.

Isaac began gaining national recognition in 2012 as a Semi-Finalist for the American Prize in Conducting. That same summer he performed as a member of the Castleton Festival Orchestra under the direction of the late Maestro Lorin Maazel, joining the orchestra on an international tour to Oman. The following year he served as Assistant Conductor to Metropolitan Opera Conductor J. David Jackson at the Siena Music Festival in Italy, assisting with productions of Turn of the Screw, Cendrillon, La Forza Del Destino, and I Vespri Siciliani.

A graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, Isaac holds a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance with Honors, completed under the tutelage of long-time Boston Symphony Orchestra and Boston Pops trombonist Norman Bolter. During his studies at NEC he simultaneously worked with BSO Associate Conductor Marcelo Lehninger, with further mentorship from Bill Drury and Stephen Lord. His formative training began at the Orange County School for the Arts, where he served as an apprentice to conductor Barry Silverman and conducted his peers across multiple school ensembles.

His conducting career has extended to some of the country's most prominent institutions. Engagements have included work with the Los Angeles Philharmonic's Youth Orchestra Los Angeles, the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, and The United States Air Force Band. In 2016, Isaac co-founded the New York Conductors Symphony (NCS) in partnership with acclaimed violinist Eric Silberger, an innovative ensemble dedicated to providing the next generation of conductors with professional orchestral opportunities. He served as Music Director of the NCS from its founding through 2023.

As a trombonist, Isaac toured the United States for five years as principal trombone in the orchestras of the Broadway National Tours of Fiddler on the Roof and My Fair Lady (Ted Sperling, Music Supervisor). Prior to that, he served as Music Director of Celebrity Cruises, directing the Theatre Orchestra and managing a team of 35 full-time musicians while overseeing all music programming for a fleet serving more than 3,000 guests daily, a role for which he was recognized as Shining Star of the Month.

Following the Broadway tours, Isaac joined The Governor's Academy in Byfield, MA as Director of Instrumental Music, conducting the Orchestra and Jazz Band and providing musical supervision for the school's annual musical.
He currently serves as Operations Coordinator in the Department of Residential Life at Northeastern University, supporting a residential community of 11,000 students, while pursuing a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Brand Management, deepening the intersection of arts leadership and organizational strategy that has defined his career.

Isaac holds additional conducting awards including a Semi-Finalist distinction from the Tanglewood Music Festival Conducting Fellowship and the South Coast Symphony's Young Star of the Future Conducting Award.
